Training Agreement

The code of conduct and liability waiver for every Philly Roots Soccer Training program. Please read it before you book. Parents accept it for players under 18.

Version 2026-10-23 · Effective October 23, 2026

What this covers

This agreement is between Philly Roots Soccer Training LLC and the participant named at checkout, and, where the participant is under 18, the parent or legal guardian who accepts it on their behalf. It covers every program run by Philly Roots Soccer Training: private training, small group sessions, weekly classes, camps and clinics, and any other session, event or activity we run, wherever it is held.

In this agreement, “we” and “Philly Roots” mean Philly Roots Soccer Training LLC. “Released Parties” means Philly Roots Soccer Training LLC together with its owners, coaches, employees, contractors, volunteers and representatives, and the owners and operators of any facility or field where a session is held.

Health and fitness

You confirm that the participant is in good health, is physically able to take part in soccer training, and has no medical condition that makes participation unsafe.

You agree to tell us before a session about any medical condition, injury, allergy or medication that we should know about, and to keep us up to date if that changes. A participant who is injured or unwell should not train until they are cleared to do so.

Assumption of risk

Soccer is a physical, contact sport, and training for it carries a risk of injury that cannot be removed by coaching, supervision or equipment. Risks include, without limitation, sprains, strains, fractures, concussion and other head injuries, dental and eye injuries, heat or cold illness, collisions with other participants, the ball, goals or fixed objects, injuries from uneven or wet playing surfaces, and, in rare cases, serious injury, permanent disability or death.

You acknowledge that you understand these risks, that they are part of the activity, and that the participant takes part voluntarily and assumes all of them, known and unknown.

Medical treatment

If the participant is injured or becomes unwell at a session, you consent to us arranging first aid, calling emergency services, and having the participant transported for medical treatment. You consent to any care that emergency medical personnel judge necessary or appropriate.

You are responsible for the cost of any medical care, ambulance transport or treatment. Philly Roots does not provide medical or accident insurance for participants.

Release and covenant not to sue

For yourself, the participant, and your and their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, you waive, release and forever discharge the Released Parties from any and all claims, demands, actions, liabilities and causes of action of any kind, known or unknown, arising out of or relating to participation in any Philly Roots program, including any claim arising from the ordinary negligence of the Released Parties.

You agree not to sue the Released Parties over any claim released here. You understand that giving this release is a condition of being allowed to take part.

This release does not apply to gross negligence, recklessness or intentional misconduct, and nothing in this agreement waives any right that cannot be waived under Pennsylvania law.

Hold harmless and indemnification

You agree to hold harmless, defend and indemnify the Released Parties against any claim, loss, damage, judgment, cost or expense, including reasonable legal fees, brought by anyone and arising out of the participant's involvement in a Philly Roots program, including a claim brought by or on behalf of the participant, and including damage the participant causes to a facility, to equipment or to another person's property.

Code of conduct: players

Players are expected to behave lawfully and respectfully at all times, on and off the field, and to follow the rules of the session and of the facility where it is held.

Hazing and bullying are prohibited. Players must never behave violently or aggressively toward anyone, which includes foul or abusive language, unwanted physical contact, and remarks about race, religion, gender, ability or background. That applies away from the field too, including messages and posts about other players.

Players are expected to arrive on time and ready to train, to take care of equipment and facilities, and to accept coaching and feedback in the spirit it is given.

Code of conduct: parents and spectators

Parents, guardians and anyone attending with a player are asked to support the session rather than coach from the sideline, and to treat coaches, players and facility staff with respect.

Photography and video: ask before filming or photographing a session, and never photograph or post another family's child without that family's agreement.

Please be on time for pickup, and tell us in advance if someone other than the usual adult is collecting a player.

Rescheduling and refunds

A session can be rescheduled if you let us know at least 24 hours before it starts. We will find another time with you.

Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, are counted as used and are not made up or refunded.

Payments for sessions and packages are not refunded. Any exception is at our discretion.

Suspension and removal

We may suspend or end a participant's involvement in a program if the participant's behavior, or the behavior of an accompanying parent or guardian, breaks this code of conduct or puts anyone's safety at risk. That decision is ours to make.

Where behavior is the reason for removal, sessions already paid for are not refunded.

Minors

Where the participant is under 18, the parent or legal guardian accepts this agreement on the participant's behalf as well as their own, confirms they have the authority to do so, and confirms they have explained the code of conduct to the participant.

How your acceptance is recorded

When you accept this agreement at checkout, we record the date and time and the version of this page you accepted, and we keep that record with your booking.

If we change this agreement, the new version applies to bookings made after the change. The version and date below tell you which one you are reading.

This agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. If a court finds any part of it unenforceable, the rest of it stays in force.
